Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida, Inc. received a
HANS grant to create a web blog and a public service announcement on HIV
prevention. After months of World Café focus group discussions,
the findings helped develop the themes and visuals of both the PSA and
the blog site. With a demographic of young people ages 16-30, we
surveyed for the look and feel of both these elements. The PSA was produced by The SOURCE Theatre and Multi Media Productions. Director/Producer KT Curran, SOURCE members and community professionals took the findings shared by young people in the World Cafés and focus groups to develop the storyboards, cast, rehearse, film, edit and produce the HIV prevention PSA. At
The SOURCE Youtube channel,
you may watch and share this and other HIV-related PSAs made by the
SOURCE. You may also subscribe to the channel to receive a notice every time
a new PSA is posted. The new blog site is called The Feronia Project. This blog was created to be a safe place to learn about sexual health, engage in discussion about social and reproductive justice, and find trusted resources for comprehensive, medically-accurate sex education. The authors of this blog are employees of Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida, Inc. The Feronia Project offers in-depth and original commentary by talented, educated, and experienced feminists who will often challenge the reader by lending an insider’s look into the biological, psychological, and societal underpinnings of complex issues. You will also find political updates pertaining to our issues, polls, videos, guest posts, and even an “ask the Sexpert” feature. We hope our words raise awareness, engage you, and help you find your voice to advocate for your rights. |
